SEO Consultant

Distilled is looking for a SEO Consultant to work in our London office. You will be joining a team of digital marketing consultants who work with some of the biggest brands in the world, thrive on hard problems and have a knack for getting things done.

About the role

Our Consultants deliver top-shelf SEO analysis and develop and deliver custom digital marketing plans for each of our clients. We unpack a client’s marketing problems, build an effective strategy, and then execute on it. It’s work that takes cutting-edge technical skills and insightful analysis.

As a part of the consulting team, you will:

  • Own the channel of organic search for client engagements (strategy, tactics, implementation and reporting)
  • Develop cohesive cross-channel marketing strategies
  • Balance marketing initiatives against user experience, client budgets and brand strategy
  • Recommend and prioritize fixes for technical issues that could impact SEO performance
  • Analyze and improve campaign performance
  • Manage timelines, expectations and deliverables to ensure projects are on-time and within budget
  • Nurture and develop client relationships

Ultimately, you will be accountable for the work done on the projects you lead. You must be comfortable with taking ownership of problems as well as solutions. Your clients should be happy with the work you do and feel confident that it aligns with their business objectives.

About You 

You have 3+ years of digital marketing experience with a particular focus on technical SEO. You’ll have worked on a wide range of websites, and have solved technical problems for them which led to real business results. If you’re in-house, you’ll have worked with the development team in your organization to spec and implement technical changes that have driven business growth.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of how search engine crawlers work along with indexation
  • Strong knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets
    • Advanced formulas / pivots
    • VBA/Scripts/Macros
  • Strong knowledge of how web pages are constructed (HTML/DOM, CSS, JavaScript) and elements of key important for SEO
  • Strong knowledge of Google Analytics, Omniture orand/or other analytics platforms
  • Working knowledge of server configurations and how they affect security, page rendering and performance
  • Experience working with technical SEO tools such as Deep Crawl/OnPage/Botify, Screaming Frog, Searchmetrics, Google Webmaster Tools and SEMrush

Bonus points for:

  • Ability to hack together scripts and tools to make your processes more efficient
  • Experience utilizing APIs for data sourcing
  • Strong knowledge of SQL
