If that sounds like you then please get in touch! We’re are on the lookout for a Creative Lead that can lead projects in developing shareable, newsworthy digital pieces of content that kick-start conversations, no matter who the client.

At Distilled we create engaging pieces of content that tell stories, such as one-off interactive microsites, stunts, animations, games, photo stories, and data visualisations. Our content must attract the attention of journalists and the public. The content we create could be educational, entertaining, political, informative, illustrative or inspirational - it’s different for each client.

As a part of the creative team, you will lead campaigns from ideation to promotion. A successful applicant will understand how to translate client objectives into compelling brand stories that drive results. You will present these ideas with confidence and effectively manage the creative process, ensuring client expectations are met and exceeded.

About the Role:

Each day will be different, but a typical day could include:

  • Leading the ideation of story-driven creative campaigns with the rest of the team

  • Developing creative briefs to ensure the marketing strategy and creative direction are aligned

  • Assessing the feasibility of concepts and developing pitch decks to present finalised campaigns to clients

  • Participating in client meetings to understand clients’ business objectives and marketing goals

  • Art direction for visual executions.

  • Working with consultants to define project scope, costs, timelines and expectations

  • Overseeing the creative process from concept to completion, leading the design and user experience process, ensuring the campaign matches the client’s brand and story.

These skills would be a bonus:

  • Deliver content development plans including developing voice and tone guidelines, editorial calendars and content distribution plans

  • Manage content production with in-house writers and freelancers

  • Create content audits and gap analysis

  • Conduct audience research and persona analysis

  • Deliver content development training


  • You have worked in a digital environment for 3+ years with a strong emphasis on creative ideation, content strategy and being the mastermind behind interactive campaigns

  • Understanding of how to lead and direct creative ideation

  • You’ll understand what makes a good idea and have a proven process for validating ideas that you or members of the team come up with

  • You’ll be able to take and give feedback constructively

  • You’ll be passionate about content and digital campaigns that you see in the wild

  • You’ll appreciate the value of content and how to communicate that value to engage an audience.

  • Proven capability to translate creative concepts to compelling client presentations

  • Well-rounded portfolio of digital campaigns showing an understanding of content and digital marketing strategies

  • Ability to manage multiple projects/teams at once while staying within timeline and budgets

  • Ability to balance creative and operational needs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Effective project management and reporting skills

  • Strong copywriting skills would be beneficial
