It is with a heavy heart that we have taken the difficult decision to postpone SearchLove San Diego and SearchLove New York due to the threat of coronavirus (COVID-19). The conferences were originally scheduled for March 26 & 27 and June 8 & 9 respectively.
We plan to reschedule for new dates (we’re already speaking to all of our suppliers), at a point when we are all able to travel and congregate safely.
What has changed over recent weeks?
Over the past few weeks, as we are sure you’re already aware, we have seen heavier restrictions on travel, events of all sizes cancelled and more countries recommending self isolation and social distancing.
We don’t see this situation changing in the near future. Even if these restrictions were lifted by June we don’t feel that we’d be able to put on the experience that everyone expects from a SearchLove conference.
We have spoken to delegates, speakers and sponsors for both our conferences, taken onboard all the feedback, and so wanted to make a call as early as possible to reduce worry and enable people to plan.
Why are we telling you now?/What happens next?
We are disappointed that we won’t be able to host you in San Diego in March and New York in June, but we also realize that the longer we leave it, and the closer to the event we make the call, the worse the impact is on our speakers and delegates. We wanted to give everyone attending as much notice as possible to make alternative arrangements with hotels, airlines and employers.
This is not a decision we have taken lightly, as not only are we passionate about running the best possible events in our industry, but we also economically support the local area through our direct and indirect spending. As soon as we have more information about our plans, we'll announce them on Twitter and via our email list, and we hope many of you will join us to support the area and local businesses.
For those of you who have booked a ticket or a stay at hotels through our site, we will be in touch directly.
In among all the logistics, we’re very conscious of the human cost of the pandemic, and our thoughts go out to anyone affected. Stay safe.
We appreciate your support and patience. Our team is happy to answer any questions you may have, please feel free to reach out via email@example.com.
Will and the SearchLove team
