SearchLove session agenda is now live!

With just over four weeks left until our first-ever SearchLove on the West Coast, we thought it was time to give you a little insight into what you can expect from this year’s awesome line-up!

As always we have been working closely with the speakers to ensure that we are bringing you the most diverse and up-to-date range of topics spread out over the two days. We’ve got everything from Pinterest to Video to CRO to link building so there’s sure to be something to get you furiously scribbling notes! Without further ado, the speakers are:

Day One (Monday 18th June):

Firstly, we’ve got a new introduction on our schedule, kicking off Monday with our Breaking News Panel featuring Tom Critchlow, Wil Reynolds, Kate Morris and Todd Friesen who will be holding a panel discussion on the latest developments in search and taking questions from the audience.

Rob Ousbey  “Structured Data - Microformats, Microdata & RDFa (oh my!)”  As structured data becomes increasingly important, Rob will demonstrate how marking up data appropriately can have significant SEO impact. Expect plenty of actionable takeaways as he’ll be de-mystifying schema.org, microformats, author markup and more.

Chris Bennett  “The Creative Project Lifecycle”  97th Floor have done more infographics than any other firm, so founder Chris Bennett is ideally positioned to take us through the creative project lifecycle. Covering everything from pitching to promotion and tracking, this promises to provide a great end-to-end view of the process.

Jen Lopez - “Measuring & Maximising ROI from Social Media” -  SEOmoz’s community wrangler Jen Lopez is responsible for managing one of the biggest SEO communities online. Having more than trebled their social media following in the last 12 months, she’ll be sharing her own methodology for measuring effectiveness of social media activity and maximising ROI.

Todd Friesen  “The Penguin Update & What the Future Holds” Having worked in the SEO industry since 1998 Todd Friesen has seen first-hand how the Google algorithm has changed over the years. He’ll be reviewing what’s changed; offering a detailed analysis of Penguin and sharing his views on likely future iterations of the Google algorithm.

Ben Wills  “Understanding your Competitive Landscape”  Ontolo are releasing vertical-specific competitive landscape reports every week and Ben Wills will talk us through what we can learn from big data sets like this, plus how to recreate them for your vertical. He’ll also be giving away a huge data set for delegates to play with.

Kate Morris  “Incorporating Video into your Content & SEO strategy”  Our very own Kate Morris will be exploring how to make video a part of a successful SEO and content strategy. No talk about titles and transcripts here, this will be an action-oriented look at exactly what you need to make your business stand out in the SERPs to capture more customers and revenue.

Neil Patel  “Consulting Lessons from the Front line”  Having consulted with companies of all sizes—from start-up to Fortune 500—Neil (co-founder of Crazy Egg and Kissmetrics) will be sharing his war stories. Covering team structure, project management and effecting change this promises to be a session jam-packed with actionable advice.

To round off the first day we have a new line-up for the Head to Head: “Linkbait isn’t a Content Strategy”

In the red corner, we have Wil Reynolds from SEER Interactive; in the blue corner, Justin Briggs from Big Fish Games. Both will be demonstrating how to take your content strategy to the next level. Who wins? You decide.

As usual, at this point we will revert to being students again (i.e. our long day of studying will be followed by a long night of partying...)

Day Two (Tuesday 19th June):

Mike Pantoliano  “CRO & SEO - Better Together”  Mike kicks off day two with his talk about bringing conversion rate optimization into the SEO’s day-to-day. Tips, case studies, and takeaways will be provided to assist in-house and agency web marketers working on websites of any size.

Colby Almond  “Success with Pinterest”  Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 12 months you couldn’t fail to miss the hype around Pinterest. But can traffic from Pinterest actually drive revenue? If you’re Colby Almond it can. Colby shares his experiences of generating revenue via social media.

Rand Fishkin  “Google+ One year on”  Rand’s first session of the day will be discussing how, almost a year since Google+ was launched; many of us are still unfamiliar with how to leverage it. He will be talking through his own experiences with the platform including how to use findpeopleonplus, what ripples are actually for, what makes content go “hot” and much more.

Later on in the day, he will also be looking deeper into the big, bold content marketing plays (“De-constructing the big wins on the Web”)  to understand why they worked, what lessons there are for mere mortals and how you can create better content, build better websites and rank better as a result.

Annie Cushing  “Give your Data an Extreme Makeover”  Annie says she drills through data like a mole through dirt. She’ll be taking us through how to turn raw data dumps from reports like Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, and Screaming Frog into insight. With live walkthroughs and plenty of downloads this session promises to super-charge your reporting.

Mat Clayton  “Marketing Hacks”  Mat will be sharing the lessons he learnt the hard way whilst building his own start-up mixcloud.com. He will cover a variety of topics including using product development to get famous, how to build a community, how to integrate social tools to turbo-charge your growth and how to test which features will generate demand.

Lauren Vaccarello  “Conversion Tracking & Online/Offline Attribution”  A long-time advocate of integrating online and offline marketing efforts to gain a clearer picture of what’s driving ROI, Lauren will be sharing her own methodology to improve attribution and conversion tracking and increase ROI.

Tom Critchlow  “Ecommerce in 2012 & Beyond”  Tom will break down what ecommerce SEO looks like in 2012 including case studies and data from real SEO projects for ecommerce sites. This won’t cover the basics but rather focus on what has changed recently and what you need to be doing in 2012 and beyond to achieve success.

For the grand finale, we will be leaving you all on a high with our ‘Give it Up’ session. Getting all our speakers on stage at once to share a single brief snippet of awesomeness is one of the most popular of all our sessions. With a strict “no-tweeting” rule, the only way to see what is shared is to be there.
