The speaker line-up was revealed back in January but (drum roll please) now it’s time to unveil the topics they will be covering at this year’s LinkLove London…
First up, Wil Reynolds will be giving us all a wake-up call with his session on “Head Smackingly Simple: Post Conversion Link Building Tips” So, you have done the hard work, you have succeeded in getting people to submit a lead form or buy something from your site, but now is not the time to congratulate yourself, it’s a time to start link building in full force. Buying something or submitting a lead form is a big trust step and once someone has gone through that step, it’s far easier to lead them to the next. This is going to be Wil’s big project at SEER in 2013, and he wants to give us a sneak peek into his plans.
Next up, Lyndon Antcliff will be answering the eternal question on every SEO’s lips, “How do I Get Them to Link?” As one of the foremost experts in producing link bait which attracts, persuades and influences, Lyndon will talk through how he draws on the principles of psychology to create content designed to attract links. Discover the real reason why people link and how to go about building a linkalicious, content building machine.
Distilled’s own Hannah Smith will be following up with the numerous ways she has done just that, with her session on “23,787 Ways to Build Links in 30 Minutes” In this quick-fire session, Hannah will share a plethora of actionable link building ideas. In just half an hour, you’ll have the know-how to build a metric ass ton of new links the moment you step back in the office on Monday.
Heading all the way over from the US, Ian Lurie will be walking us through “Enterprise Link Spam Analysis” Recovery from a manual link penalty requires manual review of links. Lots of links. In this session, Ian Lurie will walk through an automated solution he built and how you can build something similar. He’ll also share insights about Google’s detection of suspicious versus legitimate links from a review of over 400,000 links across 100+ sites.
Richard Baxter will be appealing to the techie in all of us with his session on “How to Build Agile and Actionable Link Data Reports. With APIs.” How many times have you waited for a CSV download from your favourite SEO tool? How much time do you waste waiting for it to arrive? The answer is too much – and while some marketers are already learning development and code skills, there’s already an easy way for us all to access these “once limited to developers only” API’s. In his live session, Richard will take you through the fundamentals of building agile and actionable reports using Excel, and API services including SEOmoz, Majestic, and SEOgadget’s very own (and free) link contact API. By the end of the session you’ll have the skills to build agile and actionable custom link reports for outreach, analysis, clean up and competitive intelligence.
With his infectious passion for search marketing, Rand Fishkin has been perfectly placed (straight after lunch) to boost our energy levels and get us thinking about “How to Transform Your CEO into a Link Building, Social Sharing Machine” Your company’s executive team has a unique, rare kind of power to help messages spread and reach the right people. But often, they’re disconnected from the day to day challenges of marketing, despite having a huge stake and interest in its success. Never fear – Rand’s tackling this issue head-on with a presentation that shows how to turn a few minutes of your CEO’s time into a wealth of links, shares, introductions, and even content you can use to upgrade your inbound marketing efforts. From earning buy-in with the right kinds of metrics, to the psychologies that will earn the actions you need, these 30 minutes can make even the pointiest-haired bosses into marketing machines.
Next up, Ade Lewis will be talking to us about the best ways to utilize your assets when you are working on “Small Business SEO for £350 per month” As an expert on small business SEO, Ade is going to be guiding us through exactly how to deliver good SEO on a tight budget. He’ll be covering everything you need to know for small businesses from on-page to outreach with an abundance of tools, tips and takeaways to assist you on your own sites.
Claire Stokoe is no doubt going to grab our attention with her (slightly risqué) session description – “Out of 5 million infographics only 1.3% will give you an orgasm in 0.3 of a millisecond” Claire is going to take us on a journey of discovery… We’ll look at what an infographic really is and why people hate them. How to create the perfect sharable infographic. How to create the worst infographic on earth. How to make sure you give your infographic the best start in life imaginable. How to get the big links while not looking like an idiot, and how to do your job and not feel as though you’re sacrificing your passion.
Last but by no means least, Will Critchlow will be wrapping up the day with his concluding session on “The Future of Link Building” Will is going to take us on a journey into the future to discuss what has changed, what is changing and what link building is going to look like in the coming years.
Before we all head to the bar for the after-party, we will be bringing all of the speakers back to the stage for one last time to reveal their hottest tips in “Let’s Get Real” We have one rule for this session: no-tweeting, whilst you hear all of our speakers give-up one awesome tip.
