Lara Petersburg Administrative Assistant

Lara became the Seattle office’s Administrative Assistant in November 2012, contributing possibly the least likely background to Distilled.

Originally from northeast Iowa, Lara earned a degree in Anthropology from the University of Iowa in 2009. But since 2007, she has been spending much of her time living and working in the woods of the western United States. She has done trail construction/maintenance in California, Colorado, New Mexico, and Alaska, and most recently, ran a chain saw all summer as part of a 3-person trail crew on Mailbox Peak. She also spent a year as a wilderness guide in southeast Alaska, leading teenagers on 7-week-long ocean/river canoeing and hiking expeditions. These positions required Lara to be creative, organized, and solution-oriented, qualities which she is happy to bring to Distilled.

Lara is a relatively new Seattle resident and has been enjoying the city’s fantastic restaurants, spending time with the 4 people and 3 pets who share her house, learning to snowboard, and seeing as much live music as possible.
